Obsesja z Nike Air Max i ich znaczenie (Nike Air Max obsession and their meaning)

W zasadzie to nie pamiętam od czego zaczął się mój zachwyt butami Nike Air Max. Gdy wyczytałam w Glamour o dniu poświęconym Air Max, czyli 26 marca, po raz pierwszy je ujrzałam i nie widziałam w nich nic nadzwyczajnego. Wtedy jeszcze nie potrafiłabym rozróżnić ich od innych butów Nike. 

Nagle, na wybiegu Air Maxy, w czasopismach Air Maxy, na blogach też - świat oszalał jeszcze bardziej na ich punkcie. Zastanawiałam się, co jest w nich tak nadzwyczajnego? Czy sam fakt, że są klasycznymi Nike obchodzącymi 27 urodziny, czy to, że są dostępne w przeróżnych kolorach, czy to, że są wygodne (jak twierdzą ich posiadacze, nie należę jeszcze do nich.) Postanowiłam to odkryć, bo lubię rzeczy wygodne, sportowe, i lubię też to, co jest klasyczne i legendarne.
Według Nike, “Air Max to coś więcej niż tylko but.” Wszystko się zaczęło od butów Air Max 1, narodzonych 26 marca 1987 roku. Wraz z nimi rozpoczęła się rewolucja, gdyż te buty zwyczajnie opętały świat, na zawsze zmieniając sposób, w który Nike tworzył buty sportowe. Dwadzieścia siedem lat później, nie straciły na popularności, a raczej zyskały.

Pojawiają się w modzie ulicznej z całego świata, sławni projektanci ubierają w nie swoje modelki podczas pokazów swoich kolekcji, a osoby z różnych branży, czy sportowcy czy redaktorzy mody, zabiegają o to, aby mieć limitowane edycje Air Maxów, bo cena tu nie gra roli, to są Air Maxy. Od długiego czasu rządzą na ulicach, w pracy, i na wybiegach stylizacje sportowe, a Air Maxy są dla nich idealnym uzupełnieniem.

Nike i powietrze to niekończący się związek, który silnie trwa do dziś. Choć istnieją już 27 lat, to dopiero 10 lat temu, inżynierowie przeprowadzili eksperyment w amortyzacji, kierując się strukturalizmem. Inspiracją były żywe kolory i przezroczystość, a to co powstało, to są Nike Air Max które widzimy dziś wszędzie. Jedno hasło reklamowe brzmiało “Biegnij po powietrzu” ponieważ Air Max, jak potwierdza ich nazwa, są jak spacer czy bieg nad ziemią, po powietrzu.

Od swoich narodzin, Air Maxy stawały się coraz lżejsze, z coraz lepszą podeszwą, coraz wygodniejsze. Ciężko policzyć ilość kolorów i wersji Air Maxów gdyż jest ich ponad 100. Przez te lata, Air Max łączyła jedna podstawowa rzecz: niewidoczne stawało się widoczne, pokazując światu sekret podeszwy.

Są tradycyjne, legendarne, klasyczne, jedyne w swoim rodzaju. Rodzina Air Maxów ciągle się powiększa i zachwyca swoją obecnością coraz więcej niespodziewanych miejsc. Air Maxy nie wyjdą z mody, one inspirują modę. Nie dobieramy Air Maxów do ubrań, tylko ubrania do Air Maxów, bo to one są najważniejszym elementem. 

Nie mogę wyrazić własnej opinii, ale to się niedługo zmieni. Najpierw muszę stanąć twarzą w twarz z wyzwaniem i zdecydować - który kolor Air Maxów by tu wybrać?

I'm not exactly sure how my obsession with Nike Air Max shoes started. When I read in Polish Glamour about Nike Air Max day, which was March 26th, that was basically the first time I saw them and didn't find them that extraordinary. Back then I wasn't even able to differentiate them from other Nike shoes. All of a sudden, Air Max on the runway, in magazines, and on blogs - the world went crazy even more for Air Max. I wondered, what's so extraordinary about them? Is it the fact, that they're classic Nikes celebrating their 27th birthday or that they're available in a multitude of colors, or that they're super comfortable (as their owners claim, I'm not one of them yet.) I decided to research this, because I like comfort, sporty style, and I like everything that's classic and legendary.


According to Nike, "Air Maxes are more than just shoes." It all started with the Air Max 1 shoes, born on March 26, 1987. Along with them, a revolution started, because these shoes simply possessed the world, changing forever the way in which Nike created sneakers. Twenty-seven years later, tehy still haven't lost their popularity, but rather, have gained even more.

They appear in streetwear all around the world, famous designers dress their models in their during fashion shows showcasing their collections, while people from different industries, like trainers or fashion editors, do everything they can to get a hold of limited editions of Air Maxes, and the price here doesn't matter, because they're Air Max.For some time now, sporty chic outfits and styles rule on the streets, at work, on runways, and Air Maxes are the ideal fillers.

Nike and air is a neverending relationship, still going strong today. Though they exist 27 years, it was 10 years ago that engineers conducted an experiment in cushioning, being guided by structuralism. They were inspired by bold colors and transparency, and what became of it, are the Nike Air Max we see everywhere today. One of the ad slogans was "Run on air" because Air Max, like their name says, are like a walk or run above the ground, on air.

Since their birth, Air Maxes have become even lighter, with a better sole, more comfortable. It's hard to count all the colors and editions since there are hundreds of them. Over the years, Air Max had one thing in common: the invisible became visible, showing the world the secret of the sole.

They're traditional, legendary, classic, one of a kind. The Air Max family keeps on growing and graces more surprising places with its presence. Air Maxes won't go out of style - they inspire style. We don't match Air Max to our clothes, but match our clothes to Air Max, because they're the key element.

I can't share my own opinion of them but that will soon chance. First, I have to come face to face with the challenge and decide - which Air Max colors should I choose?
