Tactics to grow your blog with Pinterest
(2014)

Pinterest is one way you can show off your blog. By pinning things and having them repinned by others, you generate traffic and bring readers to your blog.

Having a blog is easy, but making it popular among thousands of other things is a challenge. What better way to do this than through social media? Everyone knows Facebook and Twitter, but some still fail to recognize the white letter P on a red circle, which stands for Pinterest. Pinterest is a place where you pin what interests you, or as pinterest.com officially states,

Here’s how it works. You make a Pinterest account, choose the categories that interest you, and immediately, thousands of images pop up, which you can pin, or save to your account. You create boards to group pins. These images are submitted by bloggers, companies, or individual people, so by repining these images, you spread the word. Get it? Pinterest is simple and it’s effective. You upload images from your blog, and people who find them interesting, repin them on their account.

Pinterest generates traffic because the more repins you get, the more referral traffic you’ll receive. So if you want to use social media to make your blog grow, simply start pinning virally. Like with other social media, Pinterest works as a SEO tool, meaning that Google indexes Pinterest accounts so they show up in search engine algorithms. If you want your pins to show up in search engines, optimize your profile and tag your pins properly. Pinterest will help build links thus creating shareable content, and bringing traffic to your blog. Google quickly indexes pages from websites with heavy traffic. Be sure to add proper keywords in the title of a Pinterest board, in the board’s description, or in the description of each pin. Also be sure to use high resolution images, as preferred by Google.

You might ask - is Pinterest reliable, effective? Well, it is. According to the Business Insider’s Pinterest has become a top referrer to e-commerce sites and also drives high-order values. Its users enjoy sharing images, mostly of products and objects, making it the ideal advertiser of products Pinterest is especially popular among women, and its users are usually well-educated and with high income. Back in October 2013 (the date of the published article), Pinterest had around 48.7 million global users, but continues to expand. Having this info at hand, it is safe to say, that Pinterest is a good tool for marketing your blog or company, especially if your target audience is women or the younger generation.

Social media is a way for people to share information with others. In the case of Pinterest, the focus is on things and products, making it ideal for marketing specific products. By sharing through Pinterest, you can show users what you have to offer, whether it’s a product you’re selling, or inspiration you live by. If users like it, they will share it with others by repinning. Your number of followers grows, you gain traffic, and you successfully market your blog or products. Sharing through social media is the marketing tool of today and of the future, so use Pinterest and watch your blog’s popularity grow!

Now, considering that you’ve decided to use Pinterest to make your blog grow, here are a few tips you should consider:

1. Follow people so more follow you

    •    In order to get followers, it helps to follow people so they can see what you have to offer. Make sure your profile is complete and looks appealing.
    •    Complete your profile so that people will know more about you and will want to follow you.
    •    Create specific boards relating to what you want to showcase. This is like your business card, showing others who you are.
    •    Find an appealing image for your Pinterest board covers. An attention grabbing image will interest people more than a plain image.
    •    Follow people with similar interests to yours, especially people who are influential and who provide quality, fresh pins.
    •    Find relevant pins to repin and add them in the proper board. This is your chance to pin helpful resources, which others will come to your account to see. You build trust this way.
    •    Pin multimedia content, such as videos and animated gifs, not just images.
    •    Pin original images from your blog, to showcase your own content.
    •    Pin regularly, since being active and consistent will increase your chance of gaining traffic and will make you a trustworthy source. You can auto-schedule or use mobile apps to avoid sitting at your computer all day.
    •    Add the “Pin It” button to your browser, which makes it easy to pin content from any website with a single click.
    •    Engage, since getting is as important as giving. Reply to comments, or like pins of people who repinned your pins. Just a few minutes a day should be enough.
    •    Collaborate by inviting contributors to pin on your board or by joining group boards. By joining group boards and collaborating with popular pinners, you expose yourself to a larger audience.
    •    Add Pinterest buttons to your site, such as the hover button, the share button, and the widget.
    •    Connect your social media accounts to Pinterest, so that your Facebook and Twitter friends can see your stuff. You can publish your Pinterest activity automatically on your Facebook Timeline.
    •    Pin during your free time,
    •    Repin old pins whenever you like.

2. Optimize your boards, your profile, and your pins so people find you more easily. Using the right keywords makes your profile a trustworthy source of information, which people want to visit.

Optimize your pins

Optimizing your pins and Pinterest boards will help you gain followers. That way, you can turn visitors into blog readers, who want to come and spend time on your blog. By optimizing, your profile will appear in top search results, so it’s found more easily. Here’s how to optimize your pins:

    •    Use #hashtags, so that your tagged content appears under similar tagged content.
    •    Add descriptions to your pins, or tag people and/or brands. You have 500 characters under each Pin description, where you can tell a story, give instructions, etc.
    •    Add the source of the URL, if it’s not your content.
    •    Think of a filename and remember to make it good so it comes up in search results.
    •    Add keywords that relate to the pins. If you want people to find what they are looking for, include keywords that would lead them to your boards, and that would make them want to stay.
    •    Use strong photography and remember to include the watermark. Use high-resolution images that are at least 600 pixels wide for best results.

Optimize your profile

Optimize your profile, since this is the chance to show readers who you are. Don’t leave any information blank, because this is the way people will get to know you and will be able to find you more easily. The more information you add about yourself, the more trustworthy you look.

    •    Add keywords in your name, which will index your Pinterest account in Pinner search results.
    •    Add links to social networks, in order to gain followers and to connect with people across networks.
    •    Add keywords in your bio - whatever you deem necessary to help you show up in search results.
    •    Add your website URL to give you additional traffic.
    •    Add your location,
    •    Create a custom URL, something that shows what you are representing.
    •    Add a photo - so that you’re not just some anonymous person.
    •    Check your “Search Privacy” settings within your Account Settings, and turn them off

Optimize your board

Optimizing your board is also helpful because it allows the board to show up in search results more often and more easily.

    •    Create board title and choose a name that will allow it to be found by users. Include necessary keywords. Place keywords in the beginning of the board title to rank higher in board search results.
    •    Add descriptive keywords in your board description, again, so it can be found easily.

3.  Pin correctly

By pinning things that will lure interested people to your blog, you will create a targeted audience and will gain faithful readers rather than uninterested visitors. Keeping your profile focused will cause people to remember it better and to come back to your boards. This is your chance to gain an audience.

    •    Your goal is a targeted audience, therefore, your task is to determine their interests, and to pin accordingly. You will draw interested people to your page, who will get exactly what they were looking for.
    •    Make or share useful and inspirational content with others.
    •    Stun your audience with large, beautiful, vertical images, since such images make an impact. Avoid pinning images that are too big, too small, unclear, or low quality content.
    •    Think up thoughtful pin descriptions, which will not only help people see the value of your pin and make them want to add it to their board, but will also make you visible in search results.
    •    Insert call to actions in pin descriptions to lead people to your blog. When pinning content from your blog articles on Pinterest, add the blog URL in the pin description so people can click on it and land on your blog.
    •    Test pins and learn from them by noticing which of your pins have the most repins. Then, you can add similar pins and expect similar traffic in return.
    •    Share appealing content to drive traffic to your blog. Make your pins look even nicer by using Pinterest tools, such as by adding meaningful words to images or resizing them.
    •    Create content relating to Pinterest’s most popular categories, or search Pinterest to get new content inspiration. You’ll get new topic ideas and will be sure to get new readers.

4. Persuade people to repin your pins and gain followers in the end

By encouraging people to spread your pins, you will be sure to gain new followers and readers. According to Pinteresting, 80% of all pins on Pinterest are repins. More repins of your content equals to more exposure to new followers, and more traffic for you. This can be done easily with just a few steps.

    •    Add Pinterest buttons to your site. Add the hover button and ADD ALT on images.
    •    Add a share button to your site so people can easily share content.
    •    Add a Pinterest widget on your sidebar to make Pinterest content easily accessible.
    •    Embed related pins on each blog post to connect your blog with Pinterest easily.

5. Use a business page

If you don’t have a Pinterest business page already, consider switching to one today. That way, you show your pincers that you’re a trustworthy source, as stated by Pinterest’s For Business page. If you started using Pinterest for personal reasons, you probably have a personal account now. However, if you are a business, big or small, you should setup a Pinterest Business Page. Its benefits include access to valuable analytics, which will help you figure out what works and what doesn’t on your Pinterest account!

Legginsy na każdą porę... czyżby?
(2014)

Legginsy. To słowo zna chyba każda kobieta, niekoniecznie modna.

Jakie legginsy by tu wybrać? Kiedyś legginsy były w stonowanych kolorach, proste, bawełniane, do kostki. Niektórzy z nas pamiętają takie nawet z dzieciństwa, ah te lata 90! Teraz legginsy znajdziesz w każdym kolorze, fasonie i materiale.

3 boyfriend blazers to complete your look

(2013)

It's obvious that we steal clothes from the boys. We take their baggy jeans, their over-sized tops, and their blazers. Boyfriend blazers are longer than the typical women's blazer, and usually have a straight cut rather than one highlighting the waist. They are long enough to wear with a tight dress or with leggings, casual enough to wear with shorts, and elegant enough to wear with jeans or shorts. They're perfect for any occasion!

The boyfriend blazer has undergone several makeovers in order to match our wardrobe and needs:

Black boyfriend blazer
The classic black boyfriend blazer - it's versatile and elegant. It adds more glam to a dressy outfit than a cardigan and can substitute a casual jacket when wearing denim shorts. The black boyfriend is a staple that every woman should have in her closet. This blazer hangs lose, usually without any closure, and its long sleeves can be cuffed. Its neckline varies from tuxedo type to rounded lapels to classic long lapels.

The single button boyfriend blazer
The typical boyfriend blazer hangs lose, but alas, a blazer with a single button to ensure it doesn't flap around in the wind. Buttoning a jacket makes the look more polished sometimes, and it help highlight your waist or curves. Pair this with skinny pants or jeans. You can wear this with a skirt, shorts or dress as well, but if buttoned, make sure the blazer isn't longer than the rest of your clothing to avoid looking nude or unprofessional. You can leave this blazer open as well.

Colored or printed boyfriend blazer
Your boyfriend wouldn't wear a bring pink blazer, would he? The colored boyfriend blazer is a hybrid of current trends and of the boyfriend blazer. Ranging from toned down colors such as burgundy or grey, to bright colors such as blue, orange or pink, to even prints such as plaid, dots or stripes. This blazer alone is enough to bring life to an outfit of a tee and jeans. Remember to avoid overdoing it by pairing a printed or colored blazer with toned down clothing underneath.
Which blazer will you choose?

Fokus na: ciepłą jesienną paletę
2011

Luźny, malinowo-czerwony sweterek pasuje do czarnych cygaretek, a lekki, karmelowy golf można połączyć z pomarańczową, letnią spódniczką.

Wystarczy założyć beżowy tweedowy żakiecik w chłodny poranek by poczuć się cieplej, szykowniej i jednocześnie klasycznie.

2011

Przypływ jaskrawych kolorów tego lata to must-have

W letnim sezonie unikamy czerni, szarości i wyblakłych kolorów, o ile jest to możliwe. Tego lata, do sklepów wkroczyły żywe kolory i ciekawe wzory. Zachwycił nas ostry róż, soczysta żółć, marynarski kobalt i ciepła zieleń.

(2011)
