Gdy
zeszłego lata w sklepach i gazetach pojawiły się ciężkie złote i
srebrne łańcuchy, usłyszałam pytanie - czy nie sprzedają takich w
sklepie zoologicznym? Te słowa padły z ust osoby nie śledzącej zbytnio
trendów i nie rozumiejącej znaczenia akcesoriów. Choć pełna obaw przed
odpustowym lookiem, skusiłam się, a dziś stanowią dużą część mojej
garderoby.
Od wielu sezonów, właściwie to od wiosny 2013,
łańcuchy i ciężka biżuteria w kolorze żółtego lub różowego złota, oraz
srebra rządzą na ulicach, blogach, wybiegach, w sklepach i w
czasopismach modowych. Strony gazet i półki sklepowe aż błyszczą od
nadmiaru tego blasku. Nosimy je ze sportowymi ciuchami jak i z
eleganckimi. Idealnie nadają się i na dzień i na wieczór.
Ciężkie łańcuchy już nie kojarzą się z młodzieżą z
dolnego Brooklynu ze slumsów, czy z odpustem. Nie są fashion faux-pas.
Noszą je największe i najmodniejsze gwiazdy.
Czym zasłużyły sobie na tę uwagę?
Zwiększyło się zainteresowanie nimi gdy gwiazdy pojawiały się ze
złotą kolią na szyi. Kolie pokazały się na blogach, w sklepach a dziś na
Allegro można je kupić za kilka złotych. Złota czy srebrna kolia
wygląda elegancko, mimo tego że najczęściej jest to zwykły pozłacany czy
posrebrzany metal. Uzupełniają look hip-hopowy, jak to robi Rihanna,
czy look sportowy, w stylu Rita Ora. Są też bransoletki, pierścionki.
Łańcuchy są grube, lub kilka cieńszych jest połączonych razem.
Nadal pojawiają się na wybiegach,
łącząc też kolejne trend, np. logomanię. Gruby łańcuch z napisem Moschino
pokrywa całą przednią część szyi. Czy, kolejny nadchodzący trend -
złoty łańcuch przeplatany białymi perłami.
Najlepiej wyglądają z prostym strojem w stonowanych
kolorach, aby uniknąć obciachowego looku. Złoty łańcuch i bransoletka
świetnie uzupełniają czarny strój, a srebrny zestaw pasuje do
pastelowych kolorów. Ważne, aby nie przesadzić, bo choć taka ciężka
biżuteria jest nadal modna, może przyćmić strój i przypomnieć o
teledyskach lat 90. Nie wspominając już o tym, że trochę waży i nie
"świeci" wtedy już tak jasno.
(Not) all that glitters is gold
When
last year's stores and magazines introduced heavy gold and silver
chains, I was asked a question - aren't these sold at pet stores? Those
words came from the mouth of a person not too fashion and trend oriented
and not knowing the meaning of accessories. Though full of doubt and
afraid of looking trashy or tacky, I was tempted, and today, they're a
big part of my wardrobe.
For many seasons, actually starting with spring
2013, chains and heavy jewelry in yellow or pink gold or silver tones
have ruled streets, blogs, runways, stores and fashion magazines.
Magazine pages and store shelves shine bright with the increased amount
of glow. We wear them with sporty outfits and elegant ones. They work
ideally for day and for night.
Heavy chains are no longer associated with teens
from lower Brooklyn [or the Bronx] from the slums, or considered geegaw.
They're not fashion faux-pas. They're worn by the biggest and most
fashionable stars.
How did they get the spotlight pointed at them?
The
interest around them increased when stars started appearing with a
thick gold chain around their neck. They appeared on blogs and in
stores, and now can be bought quite cheap online. A gold or silver chain
looks elegant even if it's usually a plain metal chain dipped in gold
or silver. It completes a hip-hop look, a la Rihanna, or a more sporty
look, like Rita Ora. There are also bracelets, rings. Chains are thick or thinner, or composed of a few thinner chains linked together.
They're still appearing on runways, combined with
other trends, like logomania. A thick chain with Moschino written over it
covers the entire front neck. Or, another upcoming trend, a gold chain
intertwined with white pearls.
They look best with outfits in toned down colors to
avoid the tacky look.A gold chain and bracelet complete an all-black
outfit nicely, while a silver set goes along with pastel colors. It's
important to not overdo it, because while heavy jewelry is still on top,
it can overshadow an outfit and bright to light music videos from the
90s.Not to mention its heavy weight and inability to "shine" brightly in
the right way.
